Josiah McElheny is a sculptor who creates finely crafted, handmade glass objects that he combines with photographs, text, and museological displays to evoke notions of meaning and memory. To produce his art, McElheny uses industrial processes. A graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design, McElheny was a 2006 recipient of the MacArthur Fellows Program “genius grant” for his work in glass sculpture.
